The Global Experience of Studying Hospitality: Sarah’s Story
Recent Les Roches graduate Sarah studied at not one but three different Les Roches campuses. During the three and a half years of her Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management, Sarah experienced living and learning at Les Roches Switzerland; Les Roches Marbella and Les Roches Jin Jiang. Sarah also completed two professional internships at leading hospitality establishments in Barcelona, Spain and Shanghai, China.
At the age of 18, Sarah arrived in Switzerland to begin her undergraduate degree in hotel management. At Les Roches Switzerland, she studied alongside an incredibly diverse student body, meeting people from across the world. Learning in such a multicultural environment, with classmates from a variety of cultural backgrounds, enabled Sarah to develop invaluable skills, such as teamwork and management. At the same time, in Switzerland, Sarah discovered a nature lover’s paradise — Les Roches Switzerland’s location in the Swiss Alps provides the perfect setting for hiking, skiing and other outdoor sports.
During her bachelor degree, Sarah also had the opportunity to discover Spanish culture: first, by studying at Les Roches Marbella, and second, by completing an internship at Hotel Arts in Barcelona. Learning at Les Roches Marbella and living on the Costa del Sol gave Sarah unique insight into culinary concepts and luxury resort management.
Finally, Sarah chose to study abroad in China, transferring to Les Roches Jin Jiang, in Shanghai. At Les Roches Jin Jiang, Sarah had the opportunity to study a range of business subjects, such as psychology, economics and facility management, and to work towards her goal of a career in business management. Studying in China also gave her the opportunity to practice her Mandarin language skills, understand Asian business culture and expand her international network.
A proud Les Roches alumna, Sarah earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management with honors and distinctions. In less than four years, she has explored the world, pushed her own limits and embraced challenges. This is her global story.
